Sliding Glass Doors Have Gone From An Eyesore To A Thing Of Beauty & Elegance

As the fenestration world has changed from manufacturing windows and doors with aluminum frames to now fabricating windows and doors with uPVC Vinyl Frames, few items in the product line have benefited as much as the Sliding Glass Doors.

Sliding Glass Doors have gone from an eyesore to a thing of beauty and elegance. They’ve transformed from big energy wasters to big energy savers. Easy to operate and labeled Energy Saving by the Federal Government.

Available exterior colors are white, beige (or tan), and bronze.

There are two main types of sliding glass doors:

  1. Bypass Doors: These are the traditional doors that can either stack left or right, are generally two panel doors with one opening over the other or BYPASSING the other panel. Bypass doors can be two or more panels and come in a variety of heights.
  2. Pocket Doors: These doors have panels that either pocket inside a wall or on the outside of a wall creating a clear opening the same size as the door when completely closed. They come in 1 panel, 2 panel, 3 panel, 4 panel and more, and can pocket either left or right.

Both Bypass doors and pocket doors are available in Impact or Non-Impact. Large Sliding Glass Doors should be protected with either Impact Doors or storm protection over non-impact doors because an unprotected opening of this size could cause devastation if blown out by a hurricane or severe storm.
